iOS App Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Effective date: August 19, 2026. Last updated: August 19, 2026.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Big Much LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("Good Dopamine," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the Good Dopamine iOS application and any related content, features, and services (together, the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to our End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

1. Important health notice — please read carefully

Good Dopamine is a general wellness and productivity app. It is not a medical device, and nothing in the App is medical advice.

1.1 No medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment

The App — including its activities, check-ins, baseline scores, trend graphs, articles, prompts, notifications, and any other content — is provided for general informational, educational, and wellness purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric evaluation, advice, or treatment.

The App does not know your medical history, medications, or circumstances. Its content is written for a broad, general audience and is not tailored to you as an individual.

1.2 Talk to a professional first

Consult your physician or another qualified healthcare professional before beginning any activity offered or suggested in the App that could affect your health — including but not limited to physical movement, exercise circuits, walking, breathwork or breathing exercises, cold exposure, changes to your sleep schedule, dietary changes, or reductions in the use of technology you currently rely on.

This is especially important if you:

  • Have a cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, or metabolic condition
  • Are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are postpartum
  • Have a history of fainting, dizziness, seizures, panic attacks, or dissociation
  • Have an eating disorder or a history of disordered eating
  • Have a diagnosed mental health condition, or are taking psychiatric or other prescription medication
  • Have not exercised recently, or are recovering from injury, illness, or surgery

Do not begin or continue any activity if your healthcare provider advises against it.

1.3 Breathwork and physical activity carry inherent risk

Breathing exercises can cause lightheadedness, tingling, or fainting in some people. Never practice breathwork in or near water, while driving or operating machinery, or in any situation where losing consciousness could cause harm. Physical activity carries a risk of injury. If at any point you experience pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or any other concerning symptom, stop immediately and seek medical attention. You participate in all activities voluntarily and assume all associated risks.

1.4 Never delay professional care

Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health professional with any questions you have about a medical condition or before making any medical decision. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read or experienced in the App. Using the App is not a substitute for checking in with a doctor.

1.5 In an emergency

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not rely on the App.

If you are in the United States and are struggling with thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or emotional distress, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24 hours a day. Outside the United States, contact your local crisis line or emergency services. The App is not a crisis service, is not monitored by clinicians, and cannot detect or respond to a mental health emergency.

1.6 No professional relationship

Using the App does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, coach–client, or any other professional treatment relationship between you and Big Much LLC or anyone associated with it. We are not acting as your healthcare provider, have not examined you, and do not provide individualized care.

1.7 About "baseline," scores, and trends

Any "baseline," score, streak, trend line, or similar indicator in the App is a self-reported wellness reflection derived from information you enter and from device usage measurements. It is a motivational and self-awareness tool. It is not a physiological measurement, not a clinical assessment, and not a measurement of dopamine or any other neurotransmitter, hormone, or biomarker in your body. No sensor on your iPhone can measure such things, and the App does not claim to.

Educational content in the App is our summary of publicly available research on habits, attention, and behavior. Where we reference research, we cite our sources. Research evolves, findings are often preliminary, and general findings may not apply to you.

1.8 App blocking is not a safety system

The App's blocking and shielding features are built on Apple's Screen Time frameworks and are intended to add helpful friction to habitual use. They are not a security control, not a parental monitoring product, and not guaranteed to be effective. Blocks can fail, be delayed, be bypassed, or be disabled — by you, by iOS updates, or by device conditions. Do not rely on the App in any situation where a failure to block content or an app would cause harm.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and that you are not barred from using the App under the laws of your jurisdiction.

The App is intended for self-directed use by the person whose device it is installed on. It is not designed or authorized for use as a monitoring or surveillance tool over another person.

3. What the App does

Good Dopamine provides screen time awareness, app blocking through Apple's Screen Time frameworks, restorative activity suggestions and tracking, self-reported baseline check-ins and trends, and educational content about habits and attention.

The App runs entirely on your device. We do not operate a server, and there is no account to create.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. We will give reasonable advance notice before discontinuing a feature that is material to a paid subscription.

4. Device permissions

Certain features require iOS permissions, including Screen Time (Family Controls) authorization and, optionally, notifications. You grant these through the iOS system prompts and may revoke them at any time in your device Settings. Features that depend on a revoked permission will stop working. How we handle data from these permissions is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Good Dopamine offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock full use of the App, including app blocking, the complete in-app activity library, your dopamine baseline score, daily and weekly check-ins, and learning resources.

SubscriptionLengthPrice
Good Dopamine Monthly1 month$8.99 USD per month
Good Dopamine Yearly1 year$53.99 USD per year

Prices shown are for the United States. In other regions, the price is charged in your local currency at Apple's equivalent price tier, which may differ.

Free trial: None. Both subscriptions bill immediately upon purchase.

Payment. All purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds. All purchases are handled by Apple, and refund requests are subject to Apple's policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Price changes. We may change prices. Where required by law, we will notify you in advance and obtain your consent before a price increase applies to an existing subscription.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App in any unlawful way or in violation of Apple's platform policies
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except where this restriction is prohibited by applicable law
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the App's blocking, shielding, or security features, or those of the operating system
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App
  • Install or configure the App on a device belonging to another person for the purpose of monitoring or controlling that person without their knowledge and consent
  • Use the App or its content to provide medical, psychological, or clinical services to others
  • Scrape, copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App's content except as permitted by law

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, activity library, and educational content, is owned by Big Much LLC and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App as described in our EULA. No other rights are granted.

The data you create in the App — your activity logs, check-ins, and reflections — belongs to you and stays on your device. We collect only the limited anonymous usage analytics described in our Privacy Policy, which you can turn off in the App.

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without obligation or compensation to you.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on services provided by Apple and by our analytics provider, and may link to third-party websites or content. We do not control these services and are not responsible for them. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the App, including Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and your wireless carrier's data service agreement. Data charges from your carrier are your responsibility.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components; that blocking features will function reliably; that data will not be lost; or that the App will produce any particular result, outcome, or health benefit.

Because the App stores your data only on your device and we maintain no backup, loss or corruption of your device, or deletion of the App, will permanently and irrecoverably delete your data. You are responsible for any backups you wish to keep.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

10. Assumption of risk and release

You acknowledge that participation in physical activity, breathwork, and other wellness activities carries inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. You voluntarily assume all such risks. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Big Much LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claim, loss, injury, or damage arising out of or related to your participation in activities suggested, tracked, or described in the App.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIG MUCH LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Big Much LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. Sections 1, 7, and 9 through 15 survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence or your right to bring proceedings there.

15. General

Changes. We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Apple as third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and of our EULA, and may enforce them against you.

Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Entire agreement. These Terms, the EULA, and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
